Smooth, Juicy, and Very Yummy!

To juice or to smoothie that is the question…. Both have their merits. Few people have the commitment to do something that takes great time, clean-up, or energy. Find what works for you. Include some liquid nutrition in your body, though, and you will thrive.
Drinking fresh, green juice and smoothies help slow or even reverse the aging process. It reduces inflammation, cleanses the body, regulates the digestive system, and helps with weight management.
Juicing gives you instant energy and smoothies take a little more energy to digest. Juicing is more work in the preparation and clean-up department. Blending your veggies and fruit into a smoothie is faster and takes less time.

Why not try both? Juice may go down quicker and a smoothie may be more filling. You may not be able to sell your kids (or skeptics) on a green juice but they may appreciate the milkshake texture of a smoothie. (you may, too).

Recently, we heard a rumor that The Kitchen Remix was AGAINST juicing! This made us giggle. We are ALL for juicing, smoothies, or eating it raw and naked! Or in your 6 inch stilettos! Have it in the morning or the afternoon or whenever your lovely self desires.

Try these recipes from The Kitchen Remix or make up your own!

Zen Zinger Smoothie
1 1/2 cup filtered water
1 head romaine lettuce
1 cup mixed greens (try something new like dandelion greens or arugula, if you are game)
1 cup spinach
1 cup kale
1 orange, peeled
1 green apple, chopped and cored
1 cucumber
1 slice lemon, lime, or both
1/2 grapefruit
1/2 piece of raw ginger, peeled
ice, optional

Blend all ingredients until smooth

Basically Green Smoothie
1 cup filtered water
3 cups spinach
1 green pear
1 green apple
1/2 cucumber
1/2 zucchini
OPTIONAL: 1 cup frozen berries or 1 banana
ice, if desired

Blend ingredients until smooth

The Kitchen Remix Green Juice
(makes 2-3 servings)
1-2 green apples
1 head romaine lettuce
4 stalks kale
2 cups spinach
1 pear
1 cucumber
2 cups broccoli
3 stalks celery

Juice all ingredients and enjoy.

Afternoon Delight
1 apple
1 orange, peeled
2 lemons, peeled
1 lime, peeled
1 cucumber
1 celery stalk
1 red pepper
2 springs parsley
5 mint leaves

Juice all ingredients.
